During the pandemic I started doing my own nails, I never really had them done with any frequency before, but in 2021 my parents gifted me a gel mani pedi for my birthday. While it was an incredibly luxurious experience, it was expensive, and felt unsafe COVID wise. The salon I went to was very open about their product supplier, so I did a little research and ended up purchasing my own supplies. Since then I’ve accumulated even more, and have branched out to doing my friends’ nails as well. It’s a fun, social, and meditative hobby all in one! It incorporates the things I like about illustration, fine art, design, color theory, science, attention to detail, and tiny things.
